Old Town Alexandria's Market Square has one of the nation's oldest continually operating farmer's markets, and on Saturday mornings visitors will find themselves on a bustling plaza where local farmers and artists have been selling their products since 1753. Alexandria has many diverse cultural attractions as well as a park system of nearly 950 acres distributed across 70 major parks and 30 recreation centers for residents and visitors to enjoy.
