The residents of The Fountains at Washington House headed out to the beach to explore Ocean City, a resort town in the state of Maryland between the Atlantic Ocean and Isle of Wight Bay. It is a 3-hour drive from The Fountains at Washington House, but this didn’t discourage the residents from participating and enjoying the company of their friends. The first stop included a delicious lunch by the bay at Macky’s Bayside Bar and Grill where residents enjoyed a variety of beach comfort food while admiring the beach themed décor and views of the bay. After lunch we continued with our scenic bus ride to Ocean City until we reached our destination. By this time everyone was excited to get off the bus for the beach experience. Some residents enjoyed walking on the wooden boardwalk lined with shops, a few went for an ice cream by the amusement park while others went straight to the beach enjoying the wonderful ocean breeze, watching surfers, swimmers and sea gulls playing on the water. We reminisced on the bus ride home about our day – the perfect weather, invigorating salt air, the feel of the sand – and shared ideas for future adventures.
