Residents from The Fountains at Washington House were delighted to attend a concert at The Kennedy Center to hear a delightful choral performance by The Washington Chorus and Washington Cathedral Choir of Boys and Girls. It was an evening filled with glorious gems of the French repertoire, including “At the Lighting of the Lamps,” written by The Washington Chorus director Julian Wachner in the French choral style. The program showcased the sumptuous Requiem of Maurice Durufle, recognized as one of the great choral masterworks of all time. The concert also featured the Kennedy Center Concert Hall’s Rubenstein Family Organ with renowned French organist Thierry Escaich – Durufle’s successor at Saint-Etienne-du-Mont Church in Paris.
The residents are looking forward to our next outing to The Kennedy Center concert hall.
