Fourth of July Celebration

The Fountains at Washington House celebrated the 4th of July with a grand and glorious party in the Sky Room, with more than 80 residents, guests, and associates participating. Vocalist and guitarist Mr. Ernie Tolley started things off with a program of patriotic songs, including old standards like God Bless America, the songs of the branches of the Armed Forces and a variety of Swing and Big Band hits. Following the singing, refreshments were served by The Fountains Dining Services Team while the residents and guests watched more festivities on the big screen.

As darkness fell, all moved out to the rooftop in view of the Washington Monument, where the National fireworks were scheduled to begin around 9:15pm. As always, we were treated to a spectacular display of “bombs bursting in air” from the National Mall; as well as smaller displays of fireworks from numerous communities all around the area. From many comments received afterward, it was a most enjoyable evening and a great celebration of our nation’s birthday.
